Roof Being Replaced on Love North and Link

New Interim Engineering Librarian appointed

Before joining UNL, Naylor worked as the Interlibrary Loan
Librarian at both the Wichita State University in Kansas from 1993-2005, and the
Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas from 1989-1992. Naylor received his
Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Oklahoma and his
Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Oklahoma State University.
Naylor says his main focus will be working with Engineering
faculty and students to help evaluate the Engineering Library’s print
collection to prioritize high-use materials to stay on site and move low-use
materials to the LDRF or satellite storage.
“I will also be working with faculty to determine what they need from an Engineering Librarian in terms of reference, instruction, and assistance with research,” explains Naylor.
Naylor’s office will be in the Engineering Library, W204R
Nebraska Hall, and he can be reached at 402-472-3412 or tnaylor2@unl.edu.

What is http://transcribe.unl.edu?
The best part about the internet, is that it’s
searchable. Looking for a good cookie
recipe? Search “Delicious cookie
recipes” in google and you come up with a million answers. Looking for how to make some great Christmas
Ornaments? Search “How to make great
Christmas ornaments.” Life is so much
easier when things are searchable.
This is why the UNL Libraries have a very important project
going on where many volunteers are needed to help. The libraries are trying to make the UNL
yearbooks searchable. In order to do
this people need to go through and write out what every page of every yearbook
says word for word. The project is
halfway done, but in order to finish it more volunteers are needed! So go to http://transcribe.unl.edu/
and starting transcribing so that this project can get done so alums, students,
faculty and many more can search the yearbooks for what they’re looking for.
