"The Nightmare of Spiders" - Halloween SciPop Talk!

For anyone afraid of spiders, take a look at the other side of the point of view and find out what scares spiders!

Join us for a ghoulishly fun talk about “The Nightmares of Spiders,” at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the Peterson Room (Rm 221) at Love Library, at 13th and R Streets in Lincoln, NE.

Matt Wilkins from the School of Biological Sciences will give a talk about his research on communication in wolf spiders and the predators and parasites that plague them in the wild.

Popcorn, cookies and iced tea will be served. The talk is free and open to the public. In addition, those that attend the talk will get a preview of the schedule of Sci Pop talks starting in February 2016. New Printing Service at UNL

Students and guests to campus can now print to kiosks in locations across campus using a new service from Information Technology Services.

PRINT IT is a new pay-per-print that enables printing from virtually any device, as well as cloud accounts and USB drives. Black and white prints are .09 cents per print, duplex black and white prints are .15 cents and color printing is to be added in the near future. Document scanning is free of charge.

There are 20 PRINT IT kiosks located on both city and east campuses, 7 of which are in the libraries:

       3 - Love Library
       1 - CYT Library
       1 - Music Library
       1 - Engineering Library
       1 - Geology Library

“It’s an easy-to-use system,” said Todd Jensen, academic technologies manager. “We see printing from your own device or from your cloud accounts being a real convenience for our students. You no longer have to pull up your documents on a lab computer—you can print from your room and pick it up later from any PRINT IT kiosk on campus.”

PRINT IT is powered by Ink Labs, Inc. All online accounts are managed by Ink and the service accepts credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Wallet. Users scan their NCard at the kiosk to securely release the print.

PRINT IT will run concurrently with the former Uniprint system, which will be phased out Oct. 16.
